Salary 55 to 60K
Responsibilities, Skills and Requirements
The selected candidate for the Metallurgist position will perform a variety of duties including

Reviewing customer specifications

Analyzing products
-
Failure Analysis -Utilizing various instruments to determine material properties and process evaluations (following testing and evaluation - will prepare written report for all failure analyses

Problem solving and assuring control of the production processes compliance with quality system requirements

Perform metallurgical investigations to eliminate quality defects, make improvements in facility recovery and reduce losses.

Focus on quality and cost control by ensuring that raw material and finished goods meet specifications of mechanical strength, micro structure integrity and other material properties (ability to perform destructive testing on steel product to determine strength and hardness)

Take on a technical role within all work centers

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metals Science or Materials Science or related field required

2+ to 5 yrs experience required (will consider internship - co-op experience)

Prior manufacturing experience in inspection, production and troubleshooting

Experience with NDT equipment and measuring instruments
